More Early Videos 1989-1991
My poetry scolled over my mouth eyes ears and forehead it was if I was trying to ingest, psychically the text which was my my feminst poetry about patriarchal culture erecting large monuments all around me, and how I would still seep through. The video was entitles inverted penis, but the typo on a program stuck and wasnt such a didactic nod to angrogyney. I was so interested in the myth of Ovid, and I had this theory that my missing phallus was inverted in my vagina. Actually I was attempting to understand my sexuality in terms of gender. At the time I was not aware of the true source of the female anger and rage with in me that would be revealed to me later through therapy. This piece was a call for me to address those issues and investigate the hidden sources of my pain.
